Ms. Amy Gaines joined the Rancho Pico staff this year and teaches a Team Discovery Advisory class. She earned a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of California Santa Cruz before completing her Master’s Degree in Special Education at California State University Northridge. After graduating from college, Ms. Gaines spent some time teaching English in Japan before teaching 8 years in the LAUSD. Prior to joining the Rancho Pico staff Ms. Gaines was a Research Assistant at California State Northridge.

Ms. Gaines has 2 cats named Lucy and Red, a fish names Rock, and she believes at least a thousand worms in her backyard. When asked about her hobbies she reported that she liked to travel, hike, participate in triathlons and bicycle. But what she loves to do now more than anything is spend time with her daughter!
