Dance Club
Advisor: Mrs. Nelson
The Dance Club of Rancho Pico Junior High is a place to share and explore
the joy of dance. There is an emphasis on hip-hop and jazz style dancing,
but all movement genres will be explored. Cooperation and fun (not competition)
are the key elements of the Dance Club. We teach one another and choreograph
dances to share with our club and with the students and parents of Rancho
Pico. Pureness of mind, body, and soul surround all aspects of the club.
(There are requirements that must be met and maintained as a member. See
Ms. Nelson for specifics.)

Instrumental Music
Director: Mr. Gilpin
Instrumental music at Rancho Pico got off to a great start its first year!
A bold venture to an adjudicated band and orchestra festival in March met
with success. The advanced band was described as "very professional"
and "going in the right direction" by judges who awarded the band
an Excellent rating. The orchestara even earned a Superior rating from one
judge, although the overall average was Excellent. The Spring Concert in
May culminated the outstanding first year these students had.
